In the area east of Rome, in Via Tiburtina 521, are situated the Studios, a complex of buildings for the audiovisual production.
The structure is spread over 25,000 square metres and consists of ten studios, a fully equipped and modern joinery, rooms for accessories (such as tailoring, make-up rooms, etc.) catering, technical services for recording, editing and recordings, etc.
The studios follow the old and famous film studios De Paolis, created in 1938 in Rome, studios that boast the production of more than 2,000 films, with its legendary studios during the golden age of Italian cinema.
Initially, after they had just been built, the facility De Paolis was designed as a plant for military production of steel, but in 1942, Angelo De Paolis commissioned the architect Antonio Valente in order to change the industrial buildings into four studios.
Shortly after the completion of the renovation work, the entire complex was bombed by the Americans and was half destroyed.
After the reconstruction in 1948, De Paolis Industria Cinematografica Romana finally started and in the following year began the great history of the facility De Paolis with the production of the film Accidenti alla Guerra from Giorgio Simonelli and interpreted by Nino Taranto.
In 1991, after years of glorious activity, the studio closed: its last film was Un orso chiamato Arturo from Sergio Martino.
In 1997 the building was reopened after renovation work under the name Studios.
Today they are modern, well equipped production facilities that produce movies, fiction, television, commercials, theatre rehearsals and special events.
